Despite its diminutive size, this temple is architecturally significant. The decision to erect an additional temple in remembrance of the Twelve Apostles was motivated by the affection of the people of Pachna for them. Following a concerted endeavour, the reconstruction of this temple commenced. The tasks were accomplished expeditiously, and the temple was adorned with every ecclesiastical implement. It appears that icons were originally used to decorate the walls of this temple, despite the absence of any surviving wall frescoes at present.
