About the Chapel
It is situated in the Kamenes region, approximately four kilometres from the village centre, and is a memorial to the Holy Great saint George the Trophy Bearer. A modest chapel once stood in this location; however, it has been severely damaged by the elements and has also been abandoned. As a result, it remained in this condition for a number of years prior to the determination to restore and refurbish it. The temple was restored through collaboration, and it is now the crown treasure of the region. Annually, the inhabitants of Pachna congregate in this sanctuary on Epiphany Monday and the day our church celebrates the memory of Agios Georgios to offer prayers and expressions of gratitude to the preeminent saint.
